A very special treat exclusively for guests taking our this exclusive Tour.  Leave the city at 8am as you journey 50 kilometers into the lush wilderness of Maetaman river valley. Arrive at an elephant sanctuary, in a tiny rural village, in time to see some of the 40+ mighty animals taking their morning baths (at night, the elephants cover themselves in mud and dirt to deter pesky insects). Next, mahouts display the strength and skills of their majestic charges, honing skills which are used in the mountain forests of the North. Then, climb on board the back of an elephant and trek through the jungle on an unforgettable safari. Visit the village of the Lisu Hilltribe and take a charming oxcart ride deeper into the wilderness.
Following a Thai buffet lunch featuring local grown fruit, take a walk through an exotic garden where intricate and surreal shapes in sensual spikes of color bloom on tropical orchids. Some of these beautiful flowers grow nowhere else in the world. You'll have a chance to encounter the showy purple Vanda orchid, the pride of Chiang Mai.
Finally, board bamboo rafts for a relaxing afternoon cruise with views of the verdant countryside as you return by the Mae Taeng River. You'll be back at your hotel by 15:00 hrs.
